Hot Topics — Vaccines, Public Health, and the Media
It’s well known that both social and traditional media are important sources of information about vaccines for the public and for policymakers, but what does vaccine coverage look like from a media perspective?

The December session of Hot Topics in Practice will consider how influential media sources present vaccine issues and how public health professionals can help frame the discussions and promote responsible coverage.

This one-hour webinar will review key principles of effective communication and media advocacy and the extent they are being applied in vaccine-related news coverage. The presentation will also use examples from the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond to explore media framing of vaccines, along with related research findings to inform what might still be needed to improve media coverage of this topic.

Communication challenges around vaccines have persisted since their invention. Register today to learn strategies for working with the media on vaccine messaging to get it right.
